i have been trying all day to get my fancy

at&t-uverse voice caller id to show up on my 

phones, like it always did on my 

non-fancy regular at&t phone line.

i spoke to 3 different uverse voice 

geniuses, and after several hours on the phone,

they have decided it's my 2000 phone, and not the uverse's 

fault. lovely, 

so, i just spent more time trying to figure out how to get 

my old phone that worked perfectly fine before uverse voice, 

to get caller id from the stupid new digital phone service.

i have turned numerous services on and off and still nada.

and, the one that is supposed to make my life so much easier,that enables me calls to make from the internet,

from the tv, and the phone. is not the problem...i don't think so....

yet i cannot (STILL) get caller id on the phone.

i do get a cute caller id message on all my tv's,

which is only good if a tv is on when a phone call is coming in,

and then it is only on the screen for 10 seconds.

so everyone runs to a tv to figure out if they want to answer the phone or not.

i know i can live without caller id, i'm sure lots of good folks 

live without it, 

but i am spoiled and i want to see who is calling me

before i answer my phone. it's my right as a uverse customer, and 

hell no i am not buying a new phone base and 6 new handsets,

just so i can get my caller id.

so i will call back tomorrow when  i have 4 precious life hours to waste

and try to get this pain in my butt fixed.

if not i guess they will be taking their

fancy uverse voice and shoving it!!!
